On Friday, 27 November 2009 the company Helios from Domžale has opened a new training-distribution center in Žilina in Slovakia. Thus Helios Group announces decisively the strengthening of its position on the Slovak market of paints and varnishes.
Today Helios Group is among the 30 largest producers of paints and varnishes in the world and brings together more than thirty companies in fifteen countries, of which 13 are production companies. Helios Group has achieved its expansion with the growth of the largest manufacturing company Toavrana barv, lakov in umetnih smol Helios from Količevo and with the acquisitions of related companies at home and abroad. So today the members of Helios Group are once the largest companies in the segment of paints and varnishes of the former Yugoslavia; Slovene companies Color and Belinka, Croatian and Serbian Duga and Zvezda-Helios. In addition there are also the Russian and Ukrainian company Odilak and Aurora in Helios Group. Further to the producers of paints and varnishes there are in Helios Group also the Slovene trading company with the specialized sales centers for the sale of paints and varnishes, called Mavrica and marketing companies abroad, which care for marketing of the products of Helios Group's brands. The companies from the area of production of adhesives and sealing compounds the Slovene company Kemostik and Croatian Metakem also belong to Helios Group. The investment in a new training and distribution center in Slovakia announces a decisive strengthening of the position of Helios Group's brands in this market, especially in the program of paints and varnishes for a wide consumption also in the program of refinishing coatings, coatings intended for wood-processing industries and producers of building joinery, as well as with the program of metal industrial coatings. By the investment, the value of which is estimated at a bit less than 4 million EURO the company Helios Slovakia, which with the capital increase became the member of Helios Group in the year 2006, obtained something less than 4300 square meters of new business areas. From this a training center for customers of our products represents a little less than 1,000 square meters, storage areas slightly less than 1700 square meters. The facility of approximately 500 square meters is the sales center for the sale of paints and varnishes for retail trade. In the ten months of 2009 the Helios Group in Slovakia sold just over 4.5 million EURO of its products, which is a little less than the same period last year and also less than planned. However, in the future Helios Group plans by means of this new investment on this market of 5 million inhabitants an above-average growth in sale in comparison to its other key markets.
